Nicolas Henri Jacob

 

Son of Henry Jacob (1753-1824), a carpenter and Antoinette Charlotte Prudhomme, herself the daughter of a master painter Nicolas Prudhomme. Nicolas Henri Jacob was the cousin of the famous cabinetmaker George Jacob . Nicolas Henri was a student of Jacques-Louis David , d ' Antoine Dupasquier (circa 1748-1831) and Jean-Jacques Morgan (1756-1799) 1  ; he is the master of Jean-Baptiste Leveille 2 . He was collaborator Edmond Pouchet , E. Roussin. He was married to the woman painter Charlotte Hublier (1817 - ...) In 1802, he presented at the Salon de Paris, a remarkable series of pen drawings. He was first professor of drawing at the National Veterinary School of Alfort (1818-1830).

He created many anatomical drawings, his most famous work in this area is 700 lithographed plates executed only for the monumental work Bourgery : Complete Treatise of Human Anatomy , 1831-1854.

He was also a furniture designer for the famous store Escalier de Cristal Lady Desarnaud-carpentier whose extraodinaire dressing table of the Duchesse de Berry , Crystal - Table and chair toilet (by Marie-Jeanne-Rosalie-Desarnaud Charpentier (1775-1842) decorator, after Nicolas Henri Jacob - offered at the Louvre in Paris antiquarian Segoura Maurice and Claude Ott.
